Aug. 18 (Bloomberg) -- German stocks advanced, led by ThyssenKrupp AG, Linde Group and Siemens AG.
The benchmark DAX rose 17.95, or 0.3 percent, to 6,463.97 as of 1:06 p.m. in Frankfurt after falling as much as 1.1 percent. The HDAX Index of the country's 110 biggest companies gained 0.3 percent to 3,296.09.
ThyssenKrupp, Germany's largest steelmaker, added 51 cents, or 1.5 percent, to 33.73 euros. Linde, the country's largest industrial gas maker, advanced 1.02 euros, or 1.2 percent, to 86.67 euros.
Siemens, Europe's largest engineering company, climbed 82 cents, or 1.1 percent, to 77.14 euros.
