Sept. 5 (Bloomberg) -- Canadian stocks fell a fourth day, led by Research In Motion Ltd.
Barrick Gold Corp. rose, limiting the market's losses.
The Standard & Poor's/TSX Composite Index retreated 1 percent to 12,683.15 at 9:38 a.m. in Toronto, the lowest since Jan. 23. The main Canadian equity benchmark is poised for its biggest weekly loss in almost eight years.
Research In Motion, the maker of the BlackBerry e-mail phone, dropped 3.5 percent to C$111.10. Barrick Gold, the largest bullion mining company, added 1.9 percent to C$33.15, haling a four-day slide.
