Oct. 13 (Bloomberg) -- GS Caltex Corp., South Korea's second-largest refiner, halted operations at its No.2 crude distillation unit at Yeosu, south of Seoul, after a fire, a company official said.
The blaze broke out at the unit, which can process 130,000 barrels of oil a day, at about 11:40 p.m. local time yesterday, said the official, who asked not to be identified because of company policy. The fire was extinguished in 10 minutes.
The plant may restart operations at noon today after safety checks, the official said. There were no casualties and the company is evaluating the damage from the fire.
