Oct. 28 (Bloomberg) -- The U.K.'s benchmark stock index, the FTSE 100, rose 1.13 percent at 8:05 a.m.
The index of 102 stocks traded on the London Stock Exchange rose 43.50 to 3,896.09. Among the stocks in the index, 69 rose, 12 fell and 21 were unchanged.
Gains in the FTSE 100 were led by Rio Tinto Plc (Rio Ln), Vodafone Group Plc (Vod Ln) and Bg Group Plc (Bg/ Ln). About 17.96 million shares traded in the FTSE 100.
