Carphone Warehouse, EasyJet, Asos: U.K., Irish Equity Preview

Nov. 17 (Bloomberg) -- The following is a list of companies whose shares may have unusual price changes in U.K. and Irish markets today. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are from the last market close.

The benchmark FTSE 100 Index advanced 63.76, or 2 percent, to 4232.97. The FTSE All-Share Index rose 1 percent, and Ireland's ISEQ Index fell 0.04 percent.

U.K. companies:

Asos Plc (ASC LN): The U.K.'s second-largest online clothes retailer announces results. Asos rose 12.5 pence, or 5 percent, to 257 pence.

BG Group Plc (BG/ LN): The U.K.'s third-biggest oil and gas company, is set to acquire 100 percent of Queensland Gas Co. after getting enough acceptances in its cash offer to compulsorily acquire the remaining shares. BG fell 3 pence, or 0.4 percent, to 845.5 pence.

Carphone Warehouse Group Plc (CPW LN): Europe's largest handset retailer, will this week announce plans to spin off its TalkTalk broadband unit as it seeks to release value for shareholders, the Sunday Telegraph reported. Carphone Warehouse advanced 3.75 pence, or 3 percent, to 145 pence.

Cranswick Plc (CWK LN): The food company that holds Weight Watchers' U.K. sausage license announces results. Cranswick rose 13.5 pence, or 2 percent, to 600 pence.

Diploma Plc (DPLM LN): The U.K. distributor of engineering and laboratory equipment announces earnings. Diploma rose 1.5 pence, or 1 percent, to 114 pence.

EasyJet Plc (EZJ LN): The discount airline's board plans to recruit at least one more independent director to block founder Stelios Haji-Ioannou's attempts to rein in the airline's growth, the Sunday Times reported, citing unidentified people. EasyJet fell 13.5 pence, or5 percent, to 266 pence.

Ultra Electronics Holdings Plc (ULE LN): The world's largest supplier of submarine-detection buoys releases earnings. Ultra Electronics rose 9 pence, or 1 percent, to 1100 pence.

Workspace Group Plc (WKP LN): The landlord to more than 4,000 businesses in and around London posts earnings. Workspace advanced 3.75 pence, or 4 percent, to 99.25 pence.

Irish companies:

Kingspan Plc (KSP ID): Europe's largest maker of flooring and insulation panels announces results. Kingspan fell 25 cents, or 6 percent, to 3.70 euros.
