Nov. 24 (Bloomberg) -- France's CAC 40 Index added 57.21, or 2 percent, to 2,938.47, at 9:05 a.m. in Paris, rising for the first day in four. The SBF 120 Index gained 2.4 percent.
The following shares rose or fell in the French market. Stock symbols are in parentheses.
Jet Multimedia SA (JET FP) soared 1.28 euros, or 38 percent, to 4.63 after the Internet and mobile-phone services company said it is in talks to sell a publishing and an international unit to Vivendi SA's SFR.
Lafarge SA (LG FP) added 96 cents, or 2.9 percent, to 34.42 euros. The world's biggest cement producer has no liquidity problems or concerns about meeting obligations tied to its debt, Investir said, citing an interview with Chief Executive Officer Bruno Lafont.
NicOx SA (COX FP) rallied 1.91 euros, or 20 percent, to 11.31. The drugmaker that's developing treatments with Pfizer Inc. and Merck & Co. said the experimental painkiller naproxcinod showed ``favorable data'' in the third of three advanced clinical trials.
Sanofi-Aventis SA (SAN FP) climbed 1.03 euros, or 2.7 percent, to 39.84. Morgan Stanley raised its recommendation on France's largest drugmaker to ``overweight'' from ``equal weight,'' citing further cost reduction and possible delayed entries from generic drug competitors.
Total SA (FP FP) gained 1.36 euros, or 3.7 percent, to 38.085, rising for the first time in four days. Christophe de Margerie, chief executive officer of Europe's third-largest oil company, plans to keep its investment strategy in place and continue paying ``strong dividends'' in spite of the financial crisis and the sharp drop in oil prices.
