Barclays, Centrica, GlaxoSmithKline: U.K., Irish Equity

Dec. 23 (Bloomberg) -- The following is a list of companies whose shares may have unusual price changes in U.K. and Irish markets today. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are from the last market close.

The benchmark FTSE 100 Index fell 37.77, or 0.9 percent, to 4,249.16. The FTSE All-Share Index slipped 0.9 percent, and Ireland’s ISEQ Index advanced 0.2 percent.

U.K. companies:

AstraZeneca Plc (AZN LN): The Anglo-Swedish pharmaceuticals group is investigating developing lower-cost versions of its competitors’ biological medicines once they go off-patent, the Financial Times reported, citing Chief Executive Officer David Brennan. The shares fell 36 pence, or 1.3 percent, to 2,700 pence.

Barclays Plc (BARC LN): The U.K.’s third-biggest bank unit, Barclays Capital Inc., and the trustee liquidating Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.’s brokerage won approval of an agreement to resolve claims tied to a $7 billion transfer that wasn’t completed following the bankruptcy. The shares fell 3.2 pence, or 2.2 percent, to 145.1 pence.

Centrica Plc (CNA LN): Britain’s largest energy supplier is still in talks to buy a 25 percent stake in British Energy Group Plc. The shares advanced 9.5 pence, or 3.9 percent, to 253.5 pence.

GlaxoSmithKline Plc (GSK LN): Europe’s largest drugmaker will stop contributing to U.S. political campaigns after this year. The shares slipped 16.5 pence, or 1.3 percent, to 1,227 pence.
