Oct. 22 (Bloomberg) -- Mexico's peso fell to the weakest level in more than a week on concern the global economic slump will deepen, reducing demand for emerging-market assets.
The peso dropped 2.2 percent to 13.5291 per U.S. dollar at 8:42 a.m. New York time, from 13.2366 yesterday. It touched 13.7745, the weakest level since Oct. 10.
The price of oil, the nation's biggest export, retreated. Global stocks declined.
