Nov. 26 (Bloomberg) -- Saudi Aramco may join a planned 500 billion rupee ($10 billion) oil refinery in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, the Financial Express said, citing Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Chairman Arun Balakrishnan.
Saudi Aramco would be offered as much as 15 percent of the refinery being planned by Hindustan Petroleum, GAIL India Ltd., Oil India Ltd., Total SA and Lakshmi Mittal, the newspaper reported Balakrishnan as saying.
Abdullah S Juma’ah, Aramco’s president and chief executive officer is in New Delhi today and is expected to meet the chiefs of Indian oil companies, including Mukesh Ambani, managing director of Reliance Industries Ltd.
Aramco is the world’s biggest state oil company.
