French Stocks: EDF, France Telecom, Iliad, Peugeot, Rodriguez

Jan. 13 (Bloomberg) -- France’s CAC 40 Index declined 44.41, or 1.4 percent, to 3,201.71 at 9:58 a.m. in Paris. The SBF 120 Index dropped 1.7 percent.

The following shares rose or fell in Paris. Stock symbols are in parentheses.

Electricite de France SA (EDF FP), the world’s biggest operator of atomic plants, tumbled 2.51 euros, or 5.9 percent, to 40.28. Exane BNP cut its recommendation on the shares to “neutral” from “outperform.”

France Telecom SA (FTE FP) lost 30 cents, or 1.5 percent, to 19.35 euros. Europe’s third-largest telephone company was cut to “sell” from “neutral” at UBS AG, which cited increased foreign-exchange risks.

Iliad SA (ILD FP) retreated 2.71 euros, or 4.2 percent, to 61.91. Oddo Securities cut its recommendation on shares of France’s second-largest provider of broadband Internet to “reduce” from “add.”

PSA Peugeot Citroen (UG FP) slipped 15 cents, or 1 percent, to 14.40 euros. Europe’s second-biggest carmaker said vehicle sales fell 8.7 percent last year as auto sales slumped in its home region.

Rodriguez Group SA (ROD FP) retreated 1.18 euros, or 24 percent, to 3.77 after gaining 284 percent since Dec. 29. The yachtmaker said it is still in talks with banks over a possible restructuring of its debt and that it had no new information that might explain the surge in its share price.

Societe Television Francaise 1 (TFI FP) lost 31 cents, or 3.1 percent, to 9.75 euros. Morgan Stanley cut its recommendation on shares of France’s largest commercial TV company to “underweight” from “equal weight.”
