Newcrest’s Smith Says Global Economy May Have Turned Corner

May 27 (Bloomberg) -- The global economy may have turned a corner, Newcrest Mining Ltd. Chief Executive Officer Ian Smith said.

Underlying fundamentals remain in place while the medium- term outlook for emerging nations is solid, Smith told an industry gathering in Canberra today.
