GlaxoSmithKline, Business Post, BP: U.K., Irish Equity Preview

July 8 (Bloomberg) -- The following is a list of companies whose shares may have unusual price changes in U.K. markets today. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are from the last market close.

The benchmark FTSE 100 Index rose 99.9 pence, or 1.9 percent, to close at 5,512.7. The FTSE All-Share Index gained 46.7, or 1.7 percent, to 2,782.72.

Ireland's ISEQ Index declined 4.5, or 0.1 percent, to close at 4,858.78.

U.K. Companies:

BP Plc (BP/ LN): Efforts to dismiss Robert Dudley, the chief executive officer of BP Plc's Russian venture, are destabilizing the jointly owned subsidiary TNK-BP, said George Robertson, the venture's deputy board chairman, according to the Financial Times. BP climbed 20.5 pence, or 3.7 percent, to 572 pence.

Business Post Group Plc (BPG LN): The postal company that handles a 10th of the U.K. mail market is releasing a business update. Business Post lost 1.3 pence, or 0.4 percent, to 308.75 pence.

GlaxoSmithKline Plc (GSK LN): Epilepsy drugs made by companies led by Johnson & Johnson and Europe's largest drugmaker may be required to carry the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's strictest warning about an increased risk of suicidal thoughts and behavior. GlaxoSmithKline added 7 pence, or 0.6 percent, to 1,180.5 pence.

PartyGaming Plc (PRTY LN): The world's biggest publicly traded Internet poker company is releasing a financial update. PartyGaming jumped 20.8 pence, or 9.1 percent, to 248.25 pence.

Persimmon Plc (PSN LN): The U.K. homebuilder is releasing a financial update. Persimmon fell 8 pence, or 3.4 percent, to 228 pence.

Irish Companies:

Bank of Ireland Plc (BKIR ID): Ireland's second-biggest bank is releasing a business update. Bank of Ireland dropped 12 cents, or 2.3 percent, to 5.06 euros.
