Connacher, Daylight Resources, Le Chateau: Canada Stock Preview

Sept. 9 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies may have unusual price changes in Canadian trading tomorrow. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and share prices are from the last close in Toronto.

The Standard & Poor's/TSX Composite Index fell 1.4 percent to 12,634.64.

Connacher Oil and Gas Ltd. (CLL CN): The oil and gas producer was downgraded to ``sector perform'' from ``outperform'' by RBC Capital Markets analyst Jason Bouvier in Toronto. The shares fell 4 percent to C$3.40.

Daylight Resources Trust (DAY-U CN): The oil and gas income trust was rated ``overweight'' in new coverage by Thomas Weisel Partners analyst Kurt Molnar in Toronto. The shares fell 4.3 percent to C$10.94.

Le Chateau Inc. (CTU/A CN): The clothing retailer reported second-quarter earnings of 39 Canadian cents a share before one- time items, exceeding the average of analysts' estimates in a Bloomberg survey by 14 percent. The company also raised the quarterly dividend by 17 percent to 17.5 cents a share. The shares were unchanged at C$13.50.
