Oct. 14 (Bloomberg) -- The U.K.'s benchmark stock index, the FTSE 100, rose 2.85 percent at 8:05 a.m.
The index of 102 stocks traded on the London Stock Exchange rose 121.18 to 4,378.08. Among the stocks in the index, 71 rose, 4 fell and 27 were unchanged.
Gains in the FTSE 100 were led by Glaxosmithkline Plc (Gsk Ln), Royal Dutch Shell Plc (Rdsa Ln) and Vodafone Group Plc (Vod Ln). About 26.50 million shares traded in the FTSE 100.
