Oct. 31 (Bloomberg) -- The U.K.'s benchmark stock index, the FTSE 100, rose 0.22 percent at 8:05 a.m.
The index of 102 stocks traded on the London Stock Exchange rose 9.62 to 4,301.27. Among the stocks in the index, 48 rose, 41 fell and 13 were unchanged.
Gains in the FTSE 100 were led by Glaxosmithkline Plc (Gsk Ln), Bp Plc (Bp/ Ln) and Aviva Plc (Av/ Ln). About 16.03 million shares traded in the FTSE 100.
