Nov. 14 (Bloomberg) -- The Democratic Republic of Congo, fighting a rebellion in the eastern province of North Kivu, said it will complete the review of mining contracts ``soon.''

The government is renegotiating 61 accords as it seeks to increase its share of revenue from the industry. Congo has a third of the world's cobalt reserves, 4 percent of its copper, as well as gold, diamonds and tin.

``We are not planning delays on the mining review,'' Deputy Mines Minister Victor Kasongo said today in a telephone interview from the capital Kinshasa. ``We hope to have the mining review over soon,'' he said, without giving a timeframe.

Decisions about mining rights will be postponed because of the fighting, the Wall Street Journal reported today. Investment plans are being pushed back by the delay, the newspaper said.
