Dec. 5 (Bloomberg) -- France's benchmark stock index, the CAC 40, fell 1.38 percent at 9:05 a.m.
The index of 40 companies traded on the Paris Bourse fell 43.69 to 3,117.47. Among the stocks in the index, 2 rose and 38 fell.
Declines in the CAC 40 were led by Total Sa, Bnp Paribas and Gdf Suez. About 2.60 million shares traded in the CAC 40.
