Dec. 2 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies may have unusual price changes in Canadian trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and share prices are from the previous close.
The Standard & Poor’s/TSX Composite Index fell 9.3 percent to 8,406.21.
Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Inc. (POT CN): The world’s largest producer of potash may fall after Mosaic Co. (MOS US), the world’s largest producer of phosphates, cut its revenue forecast and said sales dropped 38 percent in the second quarter because of “soft market conditions.” Potash shares slid 18 percent to C$65.46.
Russel Metals Inc. (RUS CN): The operator of service centers that buy steel from North American producers said that it completed the purchase of Fort Worth, Texas-based Norton Metal Products Inc. The shares fell 5.6 percent to C$16.80.
West Fraser Timber Co. (WFT CN): Canada’s biggest lumber producer said it will cut production, citing weak demand. The shares rose 1.8 percent to C$30.
