U.K. Pound Rises to $1.4949, Strengthens to 87.76 Pence Per Euro

Dec. 11 (Bloomberg) -- The British pound advanced 1.1 percent to $1.4949 as of 6:23 a.m. in London, climbing for a second day.

Against the euro, the pound strengthened to 87.76 pence, from 88.08 pence yesterday.
