Air France, Credit Agricole, EDF, Remy: French Stocks

Jan. 22 (Bloomberg) -- The following is a list of companies whose stocks may have unusual changes in Paris. Symbols are in parentheses after company names and prices are from the last close.

February futures on France’s CAC 40 Index jumped 69.5 to 2976.5 at 8:15 a.m. in Paris.

The CAC 40 dropped for a third day, losing 19.71, or 0.7 percent, to 2,905.57 yesterday. The SBF 120 Index declined 0.6 percent.

Air France-KLM Group (AF FP): Europe’s biggest airline said it expects to report an operating loss of around 200 million euros ($257 million) for the third quarter. The shares fell 16 cents, or 2.1 percent, to 7.63 euros.


Credit Agricole SA (ACA FP): The bank was profitable in 2008, French daily Les Echos reported, without saying where it got the information. Shares of France’s second-biggest bank increased 33 cents, or 4.6 percent, to 7.54 euros.

Electricite de France SA (EDF FP): Europe’s biggest power producer raised $5 billion in its largest dollar-denominated bond sale. The stock lost 1 euro, or 2.6 percent, to 37.41 euros.

Eramet SA (ERA FP): The miner is cutting output of nickel, manganese ore and alloys for the first quarter as demand slows. Eramet will cut manganese ore output to 40 percent of capacity in the first quarter, while nickel output will fall to an annualized rate of 50,000 tons. Merrill Lynch & Co. cut its recommendation to “underperform.” The shares rose 5.01 euros, or 3.7 percent, to 140 euros.

Ingenico SA (ING FP): The world’s largest maker of payment terminals said fourth-quarter revenue rose 5 percent to 224 million euros on demand from emerging markets, as sales in Asia almost tripled. The shares lost 6 cents, or 0.6 percent, to 10.14 euros.

Etablissements Maurel & Prom SA (MAU FP): The oil company, Chief Executive Officer Jean-Francois Henin and a former managing director were fined a total of 2 million euros by France’s market regulator for publishing false information on acquisitions in South America. The shares declined 6 cents, or 0.8 percent, to 7.44 euros.

PSA Peugeot Citroen SA (UG FP): Fiat SpA and its biggest shareholder, the Agnelli family, may seek a merger with French carmaker Peugeot Citroen, la Repubblica said today, without saying where it got the information. Peugeot shares rose 4.7 percent to 12.92 euros.

Remy Cointreau SA (RCO FP): France’s second-largest liquor company said current operating profit will drop about 15 percent in the 2008-09 financial year. The shares dropped 89 cents, or 3.3 percent, to 26.33 euros.

Renault SA (RNO FP): Top managers at France’s second- largest carmaker, including Chief Executive Officer Carlos Ghosn, will forego their bonuses after the company missed targets last year, spokeswoman Frederique Le Greves said. The shares rose 40 cents, or 2.7 percent, to 15.37 euros.

Vranken Pommery Monopole SA (VRAP FP): The world’s third- largest champagne maker said its full-year reported revenue fell 0.3 percent from 286.8 million euros to 285.8 million euros, impacted by a “negative currency effect” and the discontinuation of certain industrial services. Champagne revenue in the year rose one percent. The shares lost 60 cents, or 2.9 percent, to 19.80 euros.
