Jan. 14 (Bloomberg) -- China overtook Germany in 2007 to become the world’s third-largest economy, according to revised figures released by the Chinese statistics bureau today.
China’s economy grew 13 percent, more than the bureau’s previous estimate of 11.9 percent, it said on its Web site today.
China’s gross domestic product of 25.7306 trillion yuan ($3.38 trillion) topped Germany’s 2.4238 trillion euros ($3.32 trillion), based on Bloomberg calculations using average exchange rates for 2007.
