Jan. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Electricite de France SA said its 2008 profit excluding one-time items won’t exceed results in 2007.
Profit at Europe’s largest power producer will be hurt by a provision for costs related to Tartam power rates, the company said in a document published before a possible bond placement in the U.S. It will disclose the revised Tartam cost estimate next month. Previously, EDF has estimated the cost at about 1 billion euros ($1.29 billion).
Earnings growth before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization will be about 3 percent, the company said.
