July 30 (Bloomberg) -- BHP Billiton Ltd. plans to sell stakes in oil and gas projects in the Gulf of Mexico, Upstream reported, without citing anyone.
The company plans to sell interests in the Genesis, Mustang, Starlifter and West Cameron 76 ventures, the oil and gas industry newsletter said in its online edition. It hired Jefferies Randall & Dewey to manage the sale, Upstream said.
Emma Meade, a spokeswoman for Melbourne-based BHP, couldn't be immediately reached for comment.
