Sep. 2 (Bloomberg) -- The U.K.'s benchmark stock index, the FTSE 100, fell 0.26 percent at 8:05 a.m.
The index of 102 stocks traded on the London Stock Exchange fell 14.40 to 5,588.40. Among the stocks in the index, 45 rose, 51 fell and 6 were unchanged.
Declines in the FTSE 100 were led by Bp Plc (Bp/ Ln), Royal Dutch Shell Plc (Rdsa Ln) and Bhp Billiton Plc (Blt Ln). About 11.50 million shares traded in the FTSE 100.
