U.K. Stocks Update: FTSE 100 Rises 26.78 to 5,162.90

Sep. 24 (Bloomberg) -- The U.K.'s benchmark stock index, the FTSE 100, rose 0.52 percent at 8:05 a.m.

The index of 102 stocks traded on the London Stock Exchange rose 26.78 to 5,162.90. Among the stocks in the index, 65 rose, 25 fell and 12 were unchanged.

Gains in the FTSE 100 were led by Barclays Plc (Barc Ln), Bhp Billiton Plc (Blt Ln) and Royal Bank Of Scotland Group Plc (Rbs Ln). About 28.59 million shares traded in the FTSE 100.
