Oct. 2 (Bloomberg) -- The U.K.'s benchmark stock index, the FTSE 100, rose 0.24 percent at 8:05 a.m.
The index of 102 stocks traded on the London Stock Exchange rose 12.08 to 4,971.67. Among the stocks in the index, 64 rose, 30 fell and 8 were unchanged.
Gains in the FTSE 100 were led by Bp Plc (Bp/ Ln), Barclays Plc (Barc Ln) and Vodafone Group Plc (Vod Ln). About 16.00 million shares traded in the FTSE 100.
