Oct. 29 (Bloomberg) -- The U.K.'s benchmark stock index, the FTSE 100, rose 2.43 percent at 8:05 a.m.
The index of 102 stocks traded on the London Stock Exchange rose 95.38 to 4,021.76. Among the stocks in the index, 59 rose, none fell and 43 were unchanged.
Gains in the FTSE 100 were led by Royal Dutch Shell Plc (Rdsa Ln), Glaxosmithkline Plc (Gsk Ln) and Royal Dutch Shell Plc (Rdsb Ln). About 10.58 million shares traded in the FTSE 100.
