Dec. 4 (Bloomberg) -- Valero Energy Corp., the largest U.S. oil refiner, said the failure of a hydrogen compressor at its Delaware City, Delaware, plant caused an emissions release.
The incident caused an unknown amount of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide to be emitted yesterday at 1:23 a.m. local time, according to a filing with the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control.
The refinery can process 190,200 barrels of oil a day, according to the U.S. Energy Department.
