KGHM, Polskie Gornictwo, Pulawy: Central European Stock Preview

Oct. 16 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies may have unusual price changes in central Europe trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and share prices are from the previous close.

The NTX Index of 30 companies in the region slumped 8.3 percent to 1,075.43. Austria's ATX Index fell 5.2 percent, the Czech PX Index dropped 8 percent and Hungary's BUX Index slumped 12 percent. Poland's WIG20 Index retreated 6.3 percent.

KGHM Polska Miedz SA (KGH PW): Workers at Poland's state- owned copper producer end a three-day vote on whether to strike for higher wages. KGHM tumbled 9.9 percent to 29.99 zloty.

Pol-Aqua SA (PQA PW): The Polish construction company that's working on a national soccer stadium won an 86.6 million zloty ($33.3 million) road-construction contract in Warsaw. Pol-Aqua slid 5 percent to 41.98 zloty.

Polskie Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (PGN PW): Poland's energy market watchdog said it ``most probably'' won't rule on a price increase requested by the country's natural gas monopoly this week. The shares dropped 7.1 percent to 3.15 zloty.

Wydawnictwa Szkolne i Pedagogiczne SA (WSP PW): Poland's biggest textbook publisher bought Wydawnictwo Zielona Sowa for 13.3 million zloty. Wydawnictwa Szkolne gained 0.9 percent to 13.12 zloty.

Zaklady Azotowe Pulawy SA (ZAP PW): Poland's biggest fertilizer producer holds a news conference on global trends in demand for ammonia and other chemicals. Pulawy fell 5.3 percent to 61 zloty.
