Oct. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Britain's pound rose for a fifth day against the euro and fell versus the dollar.
The U.K. currency strengthened to 77.61 pence per euro as of 7:14 a.m. in London, from 78.17 pence yesterday. It weakened to $1.7234, from $1.7269.
